Remote Camera Setup at Conferences and Events

I photograph a lot of amazing conferences and meetings for so many different brands across the country and always try to setup a remote camera or additional wireless camera to act as another photographer from a fixed angel. The remote camera setup allows me to move around more for different and often more creative angels, while I can still guarantee that we have straight images of the stage and speaker setup. I'm often hired by the people who designed and created the stage so I have to document their work as well as photograph the meeting or conference in progress. Often hiding a remote camera can help create an image that wouldn't be possible from a standard photographers perspective, and I like to mount cameras on monopods to reach different angles.

It was quite an afternoon, setting up a headshot booth at the wellness fair and shooting over 250 portraits. I retouched all of the images and replaced the background with the brand color. I always try and schedule around a dozen headshots an hour, but sometimes the circumstance demands a quicker turnaround and for the purpose of an employee headshot I can often photograph many more in the time given. thyssenkrupp today announced its use of Microsoft’s HoloLens technology in its elevator service operations worldwide. The special augmented reality device is set to empower more than 24,000 of the company’s service technicians to do their jobs more safely and efficiently, and keep people and cities moving better than ever before. Currently, the global elevator service industry is valued at over $US 44 billion/year[1] and more than 12 million elevators transport over 1 billion people each day.

Using HoloLens, service technicians will be able to visualize and identify problems with elevators ahead of a job, and have remote, hands-free access to technical and expert information when onsite – all resulting in significant savings in time and stress. Initial field trials have already shown that a service maintenance intervention can be done up to four times faster than before by using the device.
