A Chinese company called Yintech recently hired me to photograph a commercial that they ran on the facade of Nasdaq in Times Square. The advert ran twice an hour and had 46 portraits presented during the complete commercial that was split into two 30 second slots. They needed video and stills shot of the entire campaign. that ran both on Nasdaq and Reuters during the day and at night.

Hexindai IPO at Nasdaq

Chinese company Hexindai ring the opening bell and celebrate their IPO at Nasdaq on November 3, 2017 in New York City (Photo by Ben Hider) After many years of being the house photographer at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) it was great to photograph the IPO process at Nasdaq and see how the first trade happens when there is no trading floor. It's quite an organized and civilized process that Nasdaq handle perfectly.

It's such a great opportunity to work for a client as large and influential as Alibaba, and the access I'm given to Jack Ma is unprecedented, but sometimes its the view of the whole crowd that gives you the real picture of his importance.
