Video Production at Iona University

Working on a new video for the alumni association at Iona University. It was a fairly involved setup for a speaking head video, but a second camera and backup audio feels like the best way to get the best final results.

Bluestone Lane Video

As you may know, working as a videographer is relatively new for me, I’ve been creating video content for only the past 18 months for clients. Having the opportunity to shoot some latte art for Bluestone Lane was really a pleasure.

Behind the Scenes on a video shoot in New York City

I’ve been working on small video projects for the New York Restoration Project this year. It’s been fun to learn some new skills and get the sound, lighting and editing part under control. Here you can see I’m using a Profoto light for a bit of fill on the subjects face, but also a profoto light and umbrella to keep my camera and interviewer dry. Sometimes you can’t decide which shoot day is best, and you’ve got to make the beat of a bad weather day.

NYRP Sherman Creek Video

Working as a photographer has been my main source of income for the past 15 years, but recently I’ve really focused on making moving images, or videos and I’m so happy that NYRP have asked for more content like this. Setting up a Sony A9 in Sherman Creek with a lavalier microphone and a small DJI Mini 2 drone is really all I need to shoot this content. If you need a quick short for social media or to promote you’re brand I’d love to work on it.

Working on more Video Projects

I’ve been shooting videos for clients for a couple of years, but often I’m handing over the editing or not being completely involved in all aspects of production. This is my first full shoot and edit solo and I’m pretty happy with the result. Theres definitely more work to be done and more learning always, but thats the joy of learning new skills. With my drone footage and a couple of well placed mics, I think it all came together pretty well.

Working on more Video Projects

We’re always happy to create some videos for our regular clients. While we’re normally hired as photographers, our equipment is able to shoot video and we’re always available to jump on new projects. With the new world of COVID-19 business has changed and keeps changing. Here you can see a small two camera setup where we recorded one side of a zoom call for a video that a client is producing to make a big announcement in the coming weeks. With two Sony A9’s and a lav mic we can get some clean looking and sounding video.

Creating Video content for the Effie's

Working as a photographer is always so rewarding, but I also love working with a video team, sometimes providing set stills and sometimes assisting in the whole process. It’s a different dynamic working with a group in a studio setting, but one that I enjoy a lot. Morgan handled the Effie’s interviews like a pro, making each subject feel comfortable and open about their work and experience judging the Effies 50th Anniversary year. Max and Oli both handled the cameras with skill and kept things rolling, or speeding along.
