St Patrick's Day Parade in New York City

From Chat GPT - If you're planning to photograph the St. Patrick's Day Parade, there are a few things you might want to keep in mind to capture some great shots:

  1. Scout the location: Before the parade starts, take a walk around the area and scout for good vantage points to take photos. Look for elevated positions, interesting backgrounds, and good lighting.

  2. Use a fast lens: A fast lens with a wide aperture (such as f/1.8 or f/2.8) will allow you to capture sharp images in low-light conditions and create a shallow depth of field that can isolate your subject from the background.

  3. Consider using a polarizing filter: A polarizing filter can help reduce glare and reflections from shiny surfaces such as brass bands and bagpipes, making your images look more vibrant and colorful.

  4. Experiment with shutter speed: To capture the movement of the parade, you can use a slower shutter speed (such as 1/60 or 1/30) to create motion blur in your images. Alternatively, you can use a faster shutter speed to freeze the action and capture sharp images.

  5. Be prepared for crowds: St. Patrick's Day Parades can get crowded, so be prepared to navigate through the crowds and be patient. Try to arrive early to secure a good spot and be courteous to other spectators.

  6. Capture the atmosphere: Don't just focus on the parade itself, but also capture the atmosphere and excitement of the event. Look for candid moments of people enjoying the parade, colorful decorations, and other interesting details that can help tell the story of the day.

Remember to have fun and be creative in your approach to photographing the St. Patrick's Day Parade. With a little planning and preparation, you can capture some great images that will help you remember the event for years to come.

Greentree Hospitality Group IPO at the New York Stock Exchange

Greentree Hospitality Group IPO at the New York Stock Exchange on March 27, 2018 on Wall Street in New York City. It was great to be back at NYSE on the trading floor to photograph another IPO for my Investor Relations client Christensen IR. Greentree Hospitality group were another amazing Chinese company who went public on the New York Stock Exchange today. I'd love to cover more IPO's for future clients who might want additional photographs than the standard photographer provides and have them delivered immediately.

Minnie Mouse gets a makeover

Back when I photographed a lot more press events, I used to go to the empire state building and cover the lighting ceremony. I never really thought the Minnie Mouse photos were ever going to run and then Minnie gets a makeover! On the left is my photo from Getty Images.
